1. Who we are

Next Generation Solar Pty Ltd (ABN 88 668 022 562) ("Next Generation Solar", "NGS", "we", "us", "our") is a South Australian solar installation company (SA Licence PGE 326855) located at 217 Flinders Street, Adelaide SA. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access or correct it.

2. What we collect

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Contact details — your name, phone number and email address.
  • Enquiry and assessment details — information you provide in our forms and quizzes, such as your suburb and address, whether you own your home, your approximate electricity bill, roof and property details, and your interest in solar or battery products.
  • Quote and installation details — where you proceed to an engineering assessment or installation, information reasonably necessary to design, quote, install and support your system.
  • Technical and marketing data — how you arrived at our site (for example campaign, ad and referral identifiers such as UTM parameters and click IDs), pages viewed, device and browser information, and IP address, collected via cookies and similar technologies.

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you — when you complete a form or quiz on this website, call us, or deal with us during an assessment or installation.
  • Through lead advertisements on third-party platforms, such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) lead forms, when you choose to submit your details in response to one of our ads.
  • From referral partners — including solar comparison and enquiry services that pass us enquiries you have submitted with them.
  • Automatically, through cookies and tracking tools including the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, which help us measure advertising performance and improve the website. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

4. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, book and conduct engineering assessments, and prepare quotes and ROI projections.
  • To contact you about your solar enquiry by phone call, SMS and email. Where you have given consent when submitting a form, this contact may use automated, pre-recorded or AI voice technology. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP or asking to be removed.
  • To design, supply, install and support your solar system.
  • To process rebate and certificate paperwork (such as STCs) on your behalf.
  • To measure and improve our advertising, website and service.
  • To comply with our legal, licensing and warranty obligations.

5. Who we disclose it to

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Service providers — including our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, website hosting, telephony/SMS providers and analytics providers, who process data on our behalf.
  • Parties involved in your installation — such as electricity distributors and retailers (for grid connection approvals), rebate and certificate registries, finance providers you ask us to work with, and equipment manufacturers for warranty registration.
  • Advertising platforms — such as Meta and Google, in aggregated or hashed form, to measure and improve campaign performance.
  • Government agencies or regulators where required by law.

Some of our service providers (for example CRM and analytics platforms) store data on servers located overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the APPs. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Storage and security

We store personal information in secure, access-controlled systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy — including the life of any warranty on your system — or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

7. Access, correction and opting out

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by replying STOP to an SMS, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or asking to be removed during a call. Opting out of marketing does not affect communications we need to send you about an active installation or warranty.

8. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Privacy Act or the APPs, please contact us first using the details below and we will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
